Anybody source these yet?  Or am i going to do that legwork too?Huh

if you have Blue burns pots....

destroy one and learn how it look inside... get a small drill tool and drill a hole in pot ( in place where you think is best after you open one)  dont destroy it .. just make a hole.... then get oscilin teslanol T6 spray and spray it.... i have 10-15 like that in my desk and for 2 years not a single problem after i refreshed em with T6

Only problem with that is that its almost impossible to get T6 in America, and when i say America i mean the entire continent. In the case of the states and Mexico i believe its illegal to import it, even so, the Germans wont ship it here.

I've found a couple good cleaners.  One of which appears to be very close to T6.

I've had good luck with this stuff.

And there is a decent pot spray that you can get at home depot, but I can't find a link for it at this moment.

Dear Todd,

I forget...are those the Bourns 5/8" square pots with the dark blue plastic body, or the Clarostat 1/2" square pots with the light blue plastic body (the latter was used on the 600 series desks)?

OR!  Are they "A-B" round/stainless steel pots, as used on the 400 desks?

Best,

Bri

Dearest Bri,

A picture is worth a thousand words.  These blue ones seem to be the WORST offenders!

On the right you also see the EQ pots, those don't seem to be nearly as bad, they tend to fall apart mechanically though, but you can tighten them up a bit and they seem to work.

These little blue buggers just get dirty and make your day nasty!

Dear Todd,

Aha!!!   Clarostat 1/2" square pots.

I've actually been lucky enough to "dribble" some CRC brand "QD Contact cleaner" (from Home Depot's electrical department) down the shaft.  It works SOMETIMES....

Or, be ready to spend money here (388 series):
